Shirley Y. Tolochko (nee Brickell) 75, of Carolina Shores, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Akron General Hospital surrounded by family. Born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania on July 26, 1937, to the late Edmund Brickell and Irene (Longenecker) Brickell. Mrs. Tolochko moved to Oberlin in 1950 where she met her husband of 58 years, Michael Tolochko, Sr.
Shirley spent time in many careers, including real estate and the Welcome Wagon. She was the CEO of the Craft Peddler Company and the Vice President of Metal Surface Technology. Shirley was an avid card player and enjoyed Euchre and Bridge. An amazing storyteller, she loved spending time with her friends and making others laugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Arthur “Butch” Brickell.
Survivors include her three children, Tarri Hill of Cuyahoga Falls, Michelle Novak (Chris Watts) of New London, and Michael Tolochko, Jr. (Siobhan Tolochko) of Glendale, California; sisters, Alice Bradstock (Bob), Cindy Mantle (Jerry), Debra Brickell; and brother, Buddy; grandchildren, Christopher Hill (Allison), Nicholas Hill (Amy), James Novak, Kyra Novak, Nicholas Capoun, and Louis Capoun; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Hill, Madelyn Hill, Malayna “Bubba” Hill; and several nieces; nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews; including special nephews, Jim and Fred Stephens; and niece, Cathy Cobb.
A memorial service will be held from 2 to 4 P.M., Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Ciriello & Carr Funeral Home, 39 S. Miller Rd., Fairlawn, OH 44333.
