ELYRIA — Three men police have said were responsible for a large amount of heroin trafficking in Lorain County have been indicted on multiple drug charges.
Luis Acevedo Jr., Jose Romero Sr. and Kevin Thorpe were arrested during Lorain police raids on two homes in February. During their searches, police seized 40 firearms, including handguns, machine pistols and assault rifles, 20 grams of cocaine, 591 grams of marijuana, 75 grams of heroin and $5,200 in cash.
Romero, who also faces federal gun charges, was charged with 10 counts of trafficking in drugs, two counts of possession of drugs and one count of possessing criminal tools.
Thorpe is charged with two counts of drug trafficking, while Acevedo is charged with trafficking in drugs, possessing criminal tools and two counts of possession of drugs.
