NFL Draft Day 3: Browns finish selections with OL Garrett Gilkey

BEREA – The Browns ended the first draft under CEO Joe Banner and general manager Michael Lombardi by taking offensive lineman Garrett Gilkey from Chadron State with pick No. 227.

The Browns ended the draft with two seventh-round selections from Division II colleges. Outside linebacker Armonty Bryant was picked at No. 217.

Gilkey (6-foot-6, 318 pounds) played left tackle in college but could move to guard. The Browns were looking to add depth on the offensive line, and he was the only lineman chosen.

The Browns picks:

No. 6 – LSU pass rusher Barkevious Mingo

No. 68 – San Diego State cornerback Leon McFadden

No. 175 – Notre Dame safety Jamoris Slaughter

No. 217 – East Central (Okla.) pass rusher Armonty Bryant

No. 227 – Chadron State (Neb.) offensive lineman Garrett Gilkey
