Ethel Lupe (nee Urschel), 94, and a resident of South Amherst, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at her home, following a long illness. She was born November 29, 1918 in Massilon. Ethel was raised and lived in South Amherst, graduating from South Amherst High School.
Her primary joy in life was that of being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a member of Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in South Amherst. Ethel loved music and especially enjoyed playing the piano. She cherished her cats.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Lupe of North Ridgeville, Jayne Cormier and her husband Gene Lindsey of Marietta, Georgia; her granddaughter, Becky and her husband Wade; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, John Joseph Lupe on November 17, 1975; her brother, Vincent Urschel in 2004; and her parents, Walter John and Ellen Urschel (nee Anderson).
Friends may call Tuesday, April 30, 2013, from 4 to 8 P.M. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Closing Prayers will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 10:15 A.M. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 A.M. at Nativity Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 333 South Lake St., South Amherst. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Amherst.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to New Life Hospice Center, 3500 Kolbe Rd., Lorain, OH 44053.
