The case of Daniel Petric, who killed his mother and wounded his father in a 2007 shooting, will be featured during an episode of “Katie” airing at 3 p.m. today on WEWS-Channel 5.

The episode of the show, hosted by journalist Katie Couric, will feature interviews with Petric and his father, Mark Petric, in a segment entitled “Are Video Games Ruining Your Life?”

Daniel was 16 when he opened fire in his parents’ Brighton Township home. He blamed the attack on his parents’ decision to take away the video game “Halo 3.” He was convicted and sentenced to 23 years to life in prison.

This isn’t the first time the Petric family has been featured on television. The case was profiled on E! Network’s “Too Young to Kill: 15 Shocking Crimes” in 2010.
