Sandra J. Herman, 71, of Lorain, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013 at University Hospital in Cleveland, unexpectedly. Ms. Herman was born in Lorain on August 17, 1941, the daughter of the late Lowell E. and Sophia D. (nee Leska) Herman.
She was a graduate of Clearview High School-Class of 1959 and a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Lorain. She was a retired sales clerk from Drug Mart in Amherst, after retiring first from the May Company which is now known as Macy’s.
Ms. Herman belonged to a bowling league and most recently enjoyed crocheting, reading, traveling and cooking. She will long be remembered for her love in caring for her mother.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra A. (Ernest) Contreras of Lorain, Lynette M. (Mark) Aguilar Bailey of Amherst; grandchildren, Ernesto Contreras, Jr., Alexander Contreras, William F. Contreras, Sophia A Contreras, Jake William Aguilar Ruddy; great grandson, Adrien Rivera and a sister, Gayle E. Myhrman of Amherst Township.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Aguilar in 1984; and a sister, Patricia M. Baylis.
Friends may call at the Schwartz, Spence, Boyer & Cool Home For Funerals, 1124 W. 5th Street, Lorain, Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral Services will be Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Karen Hollingsworth, Pastor of the Faith United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lorain.
