Mary E. Dembinski (nee Gradish), 90, of Lorain, passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, at New Life Hospice Residential Center, Lorain, following a short illness. Born July 2, 1922 in Mammoth, Pennsylvania, she came to Lorain as a young child.
She graduated from Lorain High School in 1938B. Mary was a member St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Elyria, and a member the former St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lorain. She enjoyed crocheting, oil painting, ceramics and watching wrestling and the Game Show Network. She kept her mind sharp by working on word searches daily.
Surviving is her son, David of Lorain; a daughter, Donna Dembinski of Lorain; grandsons, Dusty and Dana; a great grandson; a sister, Betty Osko of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews; and her loving Schnauzer, Stanley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester in 1967; a son, Richard in 1966; her parents, Paul and Elizabeth (nee Berdak) Gradish; brothers, John Gradish, Paul Gradish and Ray Gradish; and sisters, Marge Staszak, Agnes Garcia, and Elsie Gradish.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 6, 2013, from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 P.M., in the Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Avenue, Lorain. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 9:30 A.M., in the funeral home, followed by mass at 10 A.M., at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 41295 North Ridge Road, Elyria. Reverend Donald H. Dunson, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
