Man allegedly threatens teens on Broad Street

ELYRIA — Police were sent to the parking lot of Little Caesars on Broad Street after a man with a knife reportedly threatened teenagers who were walking across the street.

Officers met with the victims — a 15-year-old boy and 15- and 16-year-old girls — who told police they were walking across Broad Street at the East Bridge Street intersection when a man in a maroon vehicle yelled at them to move out of the roadway.

The teenagers told police the traffic light was red, so they yelled back to the man, who they described as a 25- to 35-year-old white male with dark hair.

The man then pulled into the parking lot of the Little Caesars restaurant and got out of the vehicle with a knife, according to the teenagers. He then said, “I will kill y’all,” according to a police report.

A witness to the altercation, who was leaving Little Caesars, confronted the man to defend the teenagers, according to the report. He told police the man pulled out what appeared to be a shotgun from his trunk and yelled, “You want some of this?”

Police were unable to locate the man, who reportedly drove northbound on East Bridge Street.

None of the witnesses were able to obtain the license plate information on the vehicle.
