A Wellington man is dead after a fire overnight, according to the Fire Department.
Burton Bartlett, 84, died after a fire in his camper on his son’s property in the 45,000 block of state Route 18, according to Assistant Fire Chief Bill Brown.
Brown said Barlett was living on property owned by his son, Ken Bartlett. Brown said firefighters responded at 12:42 a.m.
Brown said the cause of the fire is still under investigation but added that the fire department had been at the home recently for a fire that was determined to be a result of careless smoking by Burton Bartlett.
Brown estimated the camper a total loss of about $12,000.
