George J. McIntyre, 83, of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at EMH Healthcare, following a brief illness. He was born May 17, 1929 in Cleveland and was a Elyria resident for 25 years, coming from Parma.
George worked as a carman for Conrail Railroad for 42 years, retiring in 1991. He served in the Naval Reserves, was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 12 in Elyria, and enjoyed trains, golfing and bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Patricia (nee Cosma); daughters, Cindy (Stanley) Trycinski and Loretta Minadeo (Robert Moran); son, Peter (Cheryl) Ellis; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Brown; and a brother, Richard McIntyre.
Friends will be received Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 10 A.M. until the time of Memorial Service at 11 A.M. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Inurnment will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
