Rose Miksanek (nee Zajac), 88, of Elyria, died on Friday, May 10, 2013 at North Ridge Health Center in North Ridgeville, following a long illness. Rose was born in Lorain on October 17, 1924 and made her home in Elyria since 1952.
She was employed as a clerk for both Hills Department Store and Zayre’s Department Store. A +graduate of Lorain High School, she was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and she enjoyed gardening and walking.
She is survived by one son, Carl Miksanek of North Olmsted; one daughter, Cindy Lioi of Avon Lake; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Anna Owen of Lorain and Sophie Clark of Parma; one brother, Louis Zajac of Fairview.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ludwig in 1968; one daughter, Suzan Hamilton; three sisters, Helen Minda, Mary Novak, Josephine Rodriguez; and her parents, John and Anna (nee Merva) Zajac.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria, on Monday, May 13, 2013 from 10 A.M. until closing prayers at 10:30 A.M. A funeral Mass will follow at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria, at 11 A.M with the Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
