LORAIN — A vacant property inventory begins today.
The citywide study will cover approximately 25,000 parcels and be performed by members of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy Thriving Communities Institute, according to a Thursday news release. Members will wear bright green T-shirts with the name of the institute on them.
The inventory is being done to increase the amount of demolition money Lorain receives.
Up to 1,100 homes need to be razed and the inventory will determine which ones are demolished first, Mayor Chase Ritenauer said in March.
