6:11 p.m. — 3100 block of W. Erie Ave., a man contacted police, asking that they arrest a man who was trimming a tree in his mother’s yard. The suspect told police he trimmed the branches that were hanging over into a neighboring yard, but he did not trespass onto the woman’s property. Police said the homeowners of each property have been involved in numerous disputes involving the tree, including one report in which the man was throwing tree branches into the woman’s yard that he said had fallen into his yard.
Saturday, May 11
2:36 a.m. — 2000 block of E. 31st St., Robert White, 19, Cleveland, arrested and charged with domestic violence. White’s girlfriend, who is three months pregnant, told police White threw a chair at her during an argument over pictures of another woman on his phone. White admitted to throwing the chair, but he said his girlfriend cut him in the face and head with a kitchen knife.
4:15 p.m. — West Seventh Street, Tanya Jones, 20, same address, arrested and charged with disorderly conduct persisting. Stephen Jones, 24, arrested on a warrant through the Lorain Police Department. Officers were sent to the area for a fight, and while separating the women involved, police said Tanya Jones continued yelling and being disorderly. Stephen Jones, who was trying to break up the fight, told Tanya Jones, “Shut up girl, before I get a (domestic violence) case for slapping you,” police said.
Sunday, May 12
6:38 a.m. — 3200 block Amherst Ave., reported damage to three vehicles, which had the words “Police” written on them with spray paint. The owner of the vehicles gave police a suspect, who she believed retaliated against the family for turning him into police.
8:41 a.m. — 100 block W. 26th St., a woman reported that her vehicle’s tires were flattened and her car was spray painted. She believed a woman who was dating the same man as her had damaged the vehicle. Police said “Cassandra,” “Mines b—-” and “Robert is mines” was written on the vehicle.
Monday, May 13
1:51 a.m. — 5100 block W. Erie Ave., Tracy Perchinsky Jr., 27, 2000 block S. Jefferson Blvd., arrested and charged with domestic violence. Perchinsky’s wife told police she left Perchinsky several days ago, but she agreed to meet him out for drinks that night at Jack and Diane’s Bar. She said she left after realizing Perchinsky was too intoxicated, and Perchinsky grabbed her arm and threw her to the ground because he was upset she was leaving. Police said Perchinsky was so intoxicated that he could not speak.
9:45 a.m. — 400 block Georgia Ave., attempted burglary of a home. The homeowner said he woke up to the sound of glass breaking in his kitchen. He found that someone had broken the glass of his sliding glass kitchen door, but no one was in the area. Police said the screen of the door was bent as if someone had tried to pry it open before breaking the glass.
Sunday, May 5
2:56 a.m. — State Route 58, Darrius Fears, of Lorain, arrested on a child support warrant through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. Police were sent to Speedway gas station for a man causing a disturbance in the store. Fears, who was identified as the suspect, was stopped on state Route 58, where he denied causing the disturbance.
Tuesday, April 30
3:23 p.m. — 2900 block of Liberty Ave., reported theft from Vermilion Farm Market.
7:12 p.m. — 4500 block of Liberty Ave., a suspect arrested for trespassing at Beanie’s Coin Laundry, no name given.
Thursday, May 2
2:52 a.m. — 800 block of Howard Drive, Brandon Bollin, 25, and Justin Bollin, 21, arrested and charged with domestic violence assault. Police said the brothers were taken to Erie County Jail for the mutual assault after Brandon Bolin was treated at Mercy Regional Medical Center.
6:55 a.m. — 3100 block of Elyria Drive, reported theft of a vehicle.
10:12 p.m. — 800 block of Howard Drive, reported vandalism.
Friday, May 3
7:20 a.m. — 5400 block of South St., a woman told police her daughter threw a cell phone at her which struck her in the face, leaving a welt and a bruise. Officers were following up on the incident.
Saturday, May 4
6:22 a.m. — 3700 block of Liberty Ave., a driver arrested and charged with unsafe vehicle, driving under suspension and on a warrant out of Logan County, no name given. A juvenile female, who was found with a bag of marijuana, was cited for possession of marijuana and released to her mother.
9:51 a.m. — Tiki Beach, a tow truck was sent to Tiki Beach to pull a vehicle out of the sand, and its driver was cited for criminal mischief.
12:29 p.m. — 3500 block of Liberty Ave., reported damage to a gas pump.
Sunday, May 5
10:45 a.m. — 4000 block of Edgewater Drive, Chad Williams arrested and charged with domestic violence.
4:44 p.m. — 400 block of Ewa Yea St., reported burglary to a home between 2 p.m. April 30 and 5 p.m. May 2. Police said the home was entered, but nothing appeared to be missing.
Monday, May 6
9:09 p.m. — 200 block of Fairfax Road, a boy reported that his bike was stolen by a boy wearing a black hooded shirt at Showse Park. When he tried to get the bike back, he said the suspect punched him in the stomach. The bike is a 20-inch tan Trail Duster BMX bike.
