Darrell Hall, 74, of West Salem and formerly of Brunswick, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 at home, following a battle with cancer. He was born the sixth child to Dennis and Ivadell (Caudill) Hall on June 20, 1938 in Gully, Kentucky and had lived in Ohio since 1959, first living in Brunswick, then West Salem.
Darrell worked at the Ford Motor Company in Brookpark for 29 years in assembly. He was baptized in 1989 and was a member and deacon of the Little Pilgrim’s Home Old Regular Baptist Church in Ruggles, Ohio. He also was a heart transplant recipient in July of 1989. He enjoyed gardening, grandchildren and all his brothers and sisters in Christ at church.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vivian (nee Johnson) Hall; daughters, Beverly (Jeff) Norris of Stow, Bonnie (Bill) Gordon of West Salem; his son, Darrell Alan Hall of West Salem; grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Megan and Owen Norris and William A. and Brittany Gordon; sisters, Laura (Jim) Taylor of Lucasville, Laverne (John) Caudill of Monroe, Michigan; brothers, Dexter Hall of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Cledith (Joann) Hall of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, Gary (Marlene) Hall of Bypro, Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Clive, Leroy, James Ray, Emma Jean and Ivadell.
Friends may call Thursday, May 23, 2013 in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton, from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 P.M., where there will be services. Funeral service will be Friday, May 24, 2013 at 11 A.M. in the Pleasant View Old Regular Baptist Church, 3589 Beat Rd., Litchfield, with Elders Larry Newsome and Danny Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Homer Twp., Homerville.
