A man from Grafton has been charged following a fatal crash involving a teen in March.
Tyler M. Gusky, 19, was charged with underage possession and underage consumption of alcohol, according to a news release from the State Highway Patrol.
The patrol was called to a report of a car submerged in a pond in the area of state Route 57 and Mennell Road at 7:21 March 23.
The driver of the car, Dominic D. Zunis, 18, of Elyria, died as a result of the crash. The patrol reported that his blood-alcohol content was .172.
According to the news release, Gusky drove to the scene and admitted he’d been with Zunis on the morning of the crash.
“It was apparent that to officers that Mr. Gusky, who is under 21, had been consuming alcohol and he was taken in to custody … A subsequent search warrant was obtained for the car Mr. Gusky drove to the scene. A subsequent search of the car revealed a large amount of empty beer and liquor containers. An open partially full bottle of Captain Morgan coconut rum was also located int he vehicle.”
Gusky’s arraignment is scheduled for May 29.
