Betty Jean Bolinger (nee Eckard), 84 years of age, and a resident of Wellington, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 3, 2013, at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange, following a lengthy illness. She was born March 10, 1929, in Kerens, West Virginia. Betty was raised in West Virginia before moving to Lorain in 1950. In 1968, she moved to Elyria before moving to Wellington in 2006.
Her primary focus in life was that of being a homemaker. When able, she would attend Faith Christian Church in Spencer, with her family. Betty enjoyed reading, fishing and playing games with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Donna Teague and her husband, Charles of Wellington, Carol Sue Bolinger and her companion, Clyde Workman of Elyria, Linda Joyce Cole and her husband, Raymond of Spring Valley, California, Karen Anita Shelton and her fiance, Don Wolc, Jr. of Wellington; her son, Charles Robert Bolinger and his companion, Teresa Holt of Elyria; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; as well as two great great grandchildren; her brothers, Ernest Hardy, Kenneth Hardy and Delmas Hardy, all of West Virginia; her sisters, Lorene Shahan, Phyllis Davis, both of West Virginia, Helen Weese of Elyria, Alice Faye Fisher of Akron, and Lena Bonner and husband, Ellery of Magadore, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Charles Franklin Bolinger in 1990; her brothers, Benjamin Carwell, Elmer P. Parks, James Parks, Alfred Hardy; her sisters, Ramona “Lucille” Hebb, Rosylea Miller; and her parents, George Hardy and Anna Elizabeth Eckard.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 5, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M., at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013, 11 A.M., at the funeral home. The Reverend Thomas Keller, Pastor of Faith Christian Church of Spencer, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
