1:27 p.m. — 900 block East Ave., Derrick Snyder, 32, same address, arrested and charged with assault. The boyfriend of Snyder’s mother said Snyder punched him in the head after becoming angry about missing clothing that belonged to Snyder.
3:30 p.m. — Walgreens, 100 Cleveland St., Jeffrey Enlow, 22, 700 block Broad St., Elyria, arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of drug instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they were called to the pharmacy about an unresponsive man sitting against a car and found Enlow sitting against a car. They said a syringe, spoon, cellophane and a used needle were in the car. Police said Enlow later admitted to using heroin after arguing with his daughter’s mother.
7:50 p.m. — EMH Elyria Regional Medical Center, 630 E. River St., juvenile girl, 100 block Indiana Ave, Elyria, arrested and charged with domestic violence. The girl’s mother said her daughter is mentally ill and attacked her after she confronted her daughter over damage done to her car by the daughter. The mother said her daughter punched her in the head knocking her to the ground and then kicked her in the head and bit her right arm. The girl said she “detaches” and doesn’t know what happens, according to a police report. The girl was taken to the Lorain County Detention Home.
Tuesday, May 21
8:51 a.m. — Main Street Beach, reported vandalism to an ice cream stand. The estimate of damages was unknown at the time the report was filed.
Wednesday, May 22
9:37 p.m. — 300 block Salem Drive, David Hale, arrested and charged with domestic violence. A no-contact order was issued for the alleged victim.
Saturday, May 25
1:07 a.m. — 2600 block Liberty Ave., Cory Hall arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and drug abuse. Police said Hall was stopped for speeding and he was found to have consumed alcohol and a bag of marijuana was found in the vehicle.
1:40 a.m. — 5100 block Liberty Ave., Bryce Kreicher arrested and charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. Officers were called to Quaker Steak & Lube for a disturbance involving two people. They were later found on Smolka Bridge.
10:24 p.m. — West River Road and Liberty Avenue, a driver arrested and charged with operating a vehicle intoxicated and right of way while making a left turn, no name given.
Sunday, May 26
2:32 p.m. — Valley Harbor, Michael Jessel charged with failure to comply/fleeing from a law enforcement officer and wake violation. Police said Jessel was operating a vessel at Parson’s Marina in such a manner to produce a large wake and he did not stop for an officer’s command. Jessel was also given warnings for failure to provide a boating education card, no day distress flag and ventilation motor replacement.
7:05 p.m. — Showse Park, police rescued a female from the lake after her mother called police concerned that she was out in the water too long. The girl was taken to Mercy Regional Medical Center for a physical and mental evaluation.
Sunday, May 19
3:17 p.m. — 1900 block Cooper Foster Park Road, an employee at Dollar General reported that a man in a white minivan stole three bags of potting soil, which he loaded into the car. She said he and another two men who were in the car were laughing about the theft. The employee obtained the license plate number for the vehicle and police were investigating.
8 p.m. — 500 block Hazel St., Brian Szucs arrested and charged with disorderly conduct persisting. Police said Szucs was arguing with a neighbor and he was highly intoxicated. An officer diffused the situation, but police had to return later for a disturbance caused by Szucs.
Monday, May 20
4:20 p.m. — 2200 block Kresge Drive, Leigh Anne Landsaw charged with driving under suspension and a seat belt violation. Police said Landsaw had 12 suspensions on her driver’s license, which had expired in 1998.
Saturday, May 25
11:35 p.m. — 100 block Lincoln St., a woman reported that her bedroom window was cracked after she heard a loud thud and glass shattering. The woman did not see anything unusual outside and police could not find the object used to break the window.
Sunday, May 26
1:49 a.m. — 200 block Church St., Ariel Hill cited for disorderly conduct intoxicated. Police said Hill struck her ex-boyfriend several times outside of RC’s Brewhouse.
5:42 p.m. — South Lake Street near Beech Cliff Drive, two 16-year-old boys were charged with underage consumption and possession of tobacco. Police said the boys were riding a bicycle in the middle of the road, and they smelled of alcohol and one was smoking a cigarette. The boys were turned over to their mothers.
