Steve “Hillbilly” Nolan, 67, of Grafton, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013, in EMH Healthcare, after a battle with lung cancer. He was born September 30, 1945 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, and had lived in the Grafton area for over 48 years.
He was employed by York International for 36 years as a welder, until their closing, and was most recently a maintenance supervisor at Sheffield Estates in Sheffield. Steve enjoyed his hot rod, attending car shows, sculpting with metal, and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary (nee Scott); sons, Tommy (Shelly) Nolan of Linden, Georgia, Red (Kathy) Nolan of Grafton; two granddaughters; and two grandsons. Survivors also include his brothers, Charlie (Sharon) Nolan of Elyria, Robert (Joan) Nolan of Oberlin; and by his sister, Connie (Bill) Pozega of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Grethel Nolan; two brothers; and four sisters.
There will be no visitation, as a celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 1 P.M., at the family home, 2107 Grafton Rd., Grafton.
Arrangements were handled by the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton.
