Christopher L. “Chris” Dove, 62, of LaGrange, passed away Tuesday June 4, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic, following a brief illness. He was born November 21, 1950, in Elyria, and was a lifelong Elyria area resident.
Chris was employed as a supervisor at Western Enterprises in Avon Lake and was also a accomplished guitarist who played in several local bands. He was also a 1969 Midview High School graduate and a member of the Elyria Elks Lodge 465 and a social member of the Elyria Knights of Columbus Council 774.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Judy (nee Ensign); daughters, Nichole Rollins of Medina and Alexis Ferner of Elyria; sons, Scott Dove of Elyria and Tom Ferner of Grafton; grandchildren, Evey and Sarah; parents, James, Sr. and Mary Dove of Grafton; sister, Cheryl “Toosie” Dusky of Greenbrier, Tennessee; brothers, James, Jr. and Ron, both of Grafton, Larry of Lorain and Tim of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Michael Dove. The family will receive friends Friday, June 7, 2013, 4 until 7 P.M., at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 11 A.M., in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
