Elyria woman hurt in head-on crash

ELYRIA — An Elyria woman is recovering after surviving a head-on car crash at the intersection of state Route 57 and Cleveland Street around 12:35 a.m. Sunday.

Robin Hicks, 59, of the 100 block of Antoinette Court, was in fair condition Sunday night at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. Hicks was driving a Buick LeSabre that struck a Ford Taurus SE driven by Elyria resident Ericka Manholt, 17, of the 300 block of Pasadena Avenue, according to fire Capt. James Cawley.

Manholt wasn’t seriously injured.

What caused the crash is unclear. A police report was unavailable Sunday.

    hope everybody is okay….wonder how many accidents will need to happen there before they fix up the timing of those lights, can’t count how many times someone has turned in front of me…..
