Barbara M. Sayers (nee Carman), 78, of Elyria, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a brief illness. She was born June 18, 1934 in Cleveland and was an Elyria resident for most of her life.
Barbara worked as a computer specialist at the Reynolds and Reynolds Corporation in Parma for 20 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Sugar Ridge Baptist Church in North Ridgeville and the Order of Eastern Star, Lyndon Chapter in LaGrange. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, sewing, and camping.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Willard; daughters, Sharon (Tom) Booth of Elyria and Susan (David) Herb of Oberlin; sons, Don (Colleen) Sayers of Elyria and Bill (Kim) Sayers of Sheffield Village; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and brother, Donald (Dee) Carman of Elyria.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 20, 2013, 4 to 7 P.M., at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Friday, June 21, 2013, at 10 A.M. in the funeral home. The Reverend Michael Manosky will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
