He had been employed by General Motors in Elyria and Mansfield, and retired in 2005 after 39 years. Richard was a member of the Mansfield Baptist Temple, and the NRA. His pleasure in life was his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Carter Shreve; one son, Scott Shreve of Akron; one daughter, Amy (Steve) Vealey of Mansfield; he was “Pepaw” to two grandsons, Christopher and Adam Vealey; and two sisters, Joan Wilhelm and Melva Oldfield, both of Elyria.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Charles Shreve, Ken Shreve, Neil Shreve, and Gary Shreve.
Calling hours will be from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M., Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 N. Stewart Rd., Mansfield. Funeral service will follow at 12 P.M. with Pastor Robert Kurtz officiating. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park. Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, LTD., 1106 Park Avenue East (St. Rt. 430E), Mansfield, is handling the arrangements.
