The woman, whom police said was bleeding from her arm and had a broken thumbnail, said he returned Tuesday and when she refused to give him $20, he grabbed her purse, pulled her hair and knocked her down. The man, whom police wouldn’t identify, had left the home when officers arrived. He was charged with assault.

Trafis denied striking the woman and said she hit the back of his truck with a large item when he asked about the dog.

10:06 p.m. — Furnace and Louisiana streets, officers were investigating a report that a man forced a female into a red pickup in the area. Police spoke to the couple involved, who told police they were husband and wife and had gotten into an argument, so the woman took a walk down the street. The man told police he did not hit his wife, but he “made her” get into his vehicle for her own safety.

11 p.m. — 200 block Brunswick Drive, Juan Ruffin, 29, same address, arrested and charged with domestic violence. Police were called to Ruffin’s apartment for a loud disturbance and spoke with Ruffin’s wife, who was crying and had scratches on her neck and throat.
