James R. White, Sr., 77, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his home, following a long illness. He was born in Bald Knob, West Virginia and had been a resident of Elyria since 1998, moving from LaGrange.
He worked as a machinist for many years.
James was a member of Sheffield Church of God, where he was active with the Autumn Lights senior group.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, listening to Classical and Bluegrass music and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine; sons, James, Jr. (Dianne) of Spokane, Washington, David of Rome, New York; daughters, Pamela (Michael) Dockery of Ocala, Florida, Karen (Michael) Asbury of Elyria; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sister, Glennis Cozart of LaGrange; brother, Bobby (Lennah) Green of Perrysburg.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol in 2006; father, Hartford White; mother, Grathel Green; sister, Glenna Cantley; brothers, Russell and Ronnie White, Danny Green.
Friends may call Friday, June 28, 2013, from 5 until 8 P.M., at Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013, 11 A.M., at Sheffield Church of God, 2280 North Abbe Road, Sheffield Village. Reverend Scott Skeens, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Township.
