Jeffrey E. Berger, 57, of Litchfield, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013. He was born July 3, 1955 in Lodi. Jeff was a lifelong resident of Medina County, most of those years spent in Litchfield. He was a 1973 Buckeye High School graduate and was an active member of the FFA program.
Jeff helped work the family farm. He had been a truck driver for Medina Farmer’s Exchange and also at the Grafton Landmark. Jeff lastly had worked as a parts inspector at Ohio Welded Blank, Valley City. He was a Charter member of the Medina County Puller’s Association and enjoyed tractor pulling.
He was an avid Cleveland professional sports watcher and was a noted editorial writer to the local newpapers. Jeff greatest love and enjoyment was being with his children.
The family wishes to give a special “Thank you” to the Medina County Home and the Life Care Center of Medina employees for their wonderful care given to Jeff.
He is survived by his parents, Susan and Frank Berger, Litchfield; children, Joseph, David, Elizabeth, John and Katherine; mother of the children, Margaret “Peggy” Bihn Berger; brother, James (Lois) Berger, Litchfield; and sister, Barbara (Michael) Shilling, Mantua, Ohio; uncle to many nieces and nephews; and boyhood friend, John (wife Carolyn) Tuczynski, Elyria.
Family and friends are invited to meet for the Funeral Mass at 11 A.M., Friday, June 28, 2013, at St. Martin of Tours, 1800 Station Road, Valley City. Reverend Thomas Dunphy will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Litchfield Township Cemetery, Litchfield.
