George Guilmette

GuilmetteGeorgeOBIT FLAGGeorge Guilmette, 88, of Elyria, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 at LifeCare of Elyria, following a short illness. He was born June 26, 1925 in West Salem.

He had served in the U.S. Navy. George was a life member of The Elyria United Polish Club, where he tended bar and was affectionately known as “GG”. He was also a member of The Department of Veteran Affairs, V.F.W. Post #1079. George loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling with friends, golf, cooking and boating.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Jane Janosik of Birmingham and several nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Margaret (nee Oster) Guilmette; two sisters, Marge Anna Buswell, Katherine DuBois; and brother, Robert Guilmette.

Funeral Services will be at 1 P.M., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, 9685 E. River Rd., Elyria, where the family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until time of services at 1 P.M. Pastor Robert Weldon will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria, where V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide full military honors.
