2 hurt in crash on North Ridge Road

LORAIN — A man suffered a broken leg and head injuries when the car he was driving crashed into a tree at the Elmwood Cemetery, 640 North Ridge Road, around 7:10 p.m. Monday.

Assistant Fire Chief Dennis Livchak said firefighters needed about 40 minutes to remove the roof and doors from the late model Lincoln to remove the unidentified man whose leg was wedged underneath the dashboard.

Livchak said the man, who suffered an open leg fracture, was conscious during the rescue. The man, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, was hospitalized at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, according to Herb de la Porte, LifeCare Ambulance vice president. An unidentifed woman passenger suffered minor injuries.

What caused the crash is uncertain. A police report on the accident wasn’t completed Monday night, according to a police dispatcher.

You don’t know who the driver is, you don’t know who the passenger is, you don’t know the cause of the accident… so other than being an advertisement for Metrohealth Medical Center and LifeCare Ambulance, why was this story even filed? A waste of electrons in my opinion.
