Affectionately remembered by family and friends as “Pat”, she was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, January 18, 1939, the only child of Mrs. Doris Jones (nee Price) who preceded her in death. In addition to her mother, Pat loved her grandmother, the late Mrs. Edith Price. During Pat’s teen years the three courageous women moved and settled in Elyria.
Patricia had four children, Daryl Stiles (deceased), Etta Hardy, Randolph Stiles and Crystal Phillips.
She attended Lorain County Community College and left needing only three credits to complete her degree in Police Science, feeling that a steady pay check was more important than college at the time. She began a 36 year affair, that she affectionately called her “husband”, General Motors.
She worked on the GM plant assembly floor with her long manicured nails, flashy jewelry, razor sharp tongue and uncensored humor.
Always on the move, Pat loved concerts, plays, and traveling. Her favorite vacation spot was Aruba. As a breast cancer survivor, she made every woman she knew get a mammogram.
Beside her children, Pat leaves to mourn, her grandchildren, Shila Stiles, Melita Hardy, Daria Jones, LaRanda Stiles-Jackson, Deaundra Jones-Adams, Randi Stiles, and Treyvon Phillips; and nine great-grandchildren.
