Thomas E. Price, 81, of Lorain, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at his home while under the care of New Life Hospice and surrounded by his family after a long illness. He was born November 30, 1931 in Cleveland and had resided in Lorain most of his life.
Thomas graduated from Cape Vincent High School in New York. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at E&L Transport in Lorain retiring in 1994. Tom was a member of the Church of St .Peter in Lorain. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, casino gambling and was an avid bowler.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elaine Price (nee Mroski); children, Thomas S. Price (Diane) of Amherst, Denise Hensley (Michael) of Powell, John C. Price (Karen) of Pinckney, Michigan and Nancy Cragg (Sean) of Canton, Michigan; nine grandchildren; great grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Hinckley and Joan Gosier, both of New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Genevieve Price (nee Fraley); and eight brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave., Lorain. Funeral services will be private and held at a later date.
