Harriet A. Barwinski, 92, of Wellington, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Born November 3, 1920 in Elyria to the late Harry and Katherine (nee Hoadley) Underhill, Harriet was a graduate of Penfield High School and a life long resident of the Wellington area.
As a young woman, Harriet worked for the Ramser’s Restaurant and Hotel, where she met her husband, Adam. She was a member of the King’s Daughters, UMW, and Church Circle. Harriet was talented in the kitchen, enjoying both baking and cooking. She enjoyed sewing and making crafts as well. Most of all, Harriet will be remembered as a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother.
Harriet is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Adam; daughter, Kathy (Brian) Kane of Westerville; son, Bill (Karen) Barwinski of Columbus; and five grandchildren, Alissa, Emily, and Wesley Barwinski, Quinton and Ryan Kane.
Friends and family will be received Sunday July 7, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M., at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St., Wellington, where services will be held Monday, July8, 2013, beginning at 11 A.M., with Pastor Paul Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be directed to Wellington First United Methodist Church, 127 Park Place, Wellington, 44090.
