Foul play is not suspected in man’s death

ELYRIA — A man found dead outside of a building at West 16th Street and West Avenue appeared to die of natural causes, according to Lorain County Coroner Dr. Stephen Evans.

The body of James Francis, 54, was discovered by friends before noon Monday, said Elyria police Capt. Chris Costantino.

Officers were called to the scene to investigate, but Evans said the man did not have any external injuries.

Evans said he is still conducting tests, but it appears the death was natural.

Francis is a local homeless man who was known to camp out behind the building, Costantino said. Evans said Francis was last seen at 7 p.m. Sunday, and it appeared as if he had been dead since 1 a.m.

Since when is it NATURAL cause when the man was 54 ?!!! It’s too easy and less expensive to find out the truth. Such a sad day when we treat the homeless in such a manner.
