Storm sweeps through Lorain County and Northern Ohio

Heavy winds from a storm have downed power lines throughout Lorain County, but caused no major electricity outages.

About 100 Ohio Edison customers lost power as of 4 p.m., according to Ohio Edison spokesman Joe Faga. He said crews whose shifts were ending have been held over and all outages would be restored tonight.

Also, there are several road closings –about a foot of water is covering Route 18 at West Road, prompting the Ohio Department of Transportation to detour traffic– and there is standing water on nearly every low road in the southern part of Lorain County.

Check back for more.
