Lorain police arrest man for attempted murder, separate home invasion

LORAIN — Police have a suspect in custody who they believe is responsible for a shooting on Friday and a home invasion on Tuesday.

Corey Noble, 20, was arrested and charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting Shawn Freeman, 22.

Freeman was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he was in critical condition but stable, Lorain police Lt. Roger Watkins said.

According to Watkins, Freeman was shot in his vehicle on Washington Avenue, between West 18th and West 21st streets, at 10:25 p.m. Friday. Watkins said the two men knew each other, but he would not elaborate.

Noble is facing additional charges for his role in a home invasion on Tuesday, Watkins said. Police believe Noble burglarized the home of Dylan Rose, 21, on Indiana Avenue. During the burglary, Noble accidentally shot Bahlial Davis, 20, Watkins said.

Watkins said Davis was treated and released from the hospital. He is also facing charges for the home invasion, he said.
