Deputies: Teen girl successfully fought off 2 masked men who invaded her home

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — A teenage girl successfully fought off two masked home invaders who fled without taking anything, sheriff’s deputies in western Ohio said.

Deputies in Clark County were searching for the men after the Tuesday night home invasion and attack, Chief Deputy Carl Loney said.

“She defended herself and did very well at it, to the point where they fled the residence,” Loney said told the Springfield News-Sun.

“She fought them off, physically fought them off,” Loney said. “She made her point.”

Loney said the home invasion happened near Springfield. The teen told deputies the men were dressed in black and wore masks and gloves.

A neighbor said he heard noise next door and then saw the crying girl with torn clothes. The neighbor, Robert Ivory, then called 911.

“She mentioned to me that she kicked and she got away,” Ivory said.

Law enforcement agents searched for the men but did not find them.

Loney said the girl was taken to a hospital as a precaution. Her name wasn’t released.
