Arthur C. “Boy” Holloway, Jr.

OBIT FLAGHollowayArthur CArthur C. “Boy” Holloway, Jr., of Elyria, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2013 in the Malachi House of Cleveland, following a lengthy illness.

A lifelong resident of Elyria and a graduate of E.H.S class of 1946. Mr. Holloway served in the U.S Air Force, stationed in Germany and France. He was a retired inspector from Ford Motor Co., Ohio Truck Plant, Avon. During his retired years, he worked as a crossing guard for Elyria City Schools, as well as a security guard for Burns Security.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church, Elyria, where he was an honorary Deacon. He was also a member of the Lorain County Male Chorus, American Legion, Elyria Branch NAACP, teacher and counselor for Young David, and the Herman Daniels VFW Post #826, Lorain.

He enjoyed walking, spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, and reading the Bible.

He is survived by daughters, Bernadette Keaton and ReeRee Holloway; sons, Arthur C. III, Kevin and Terry (Georgiana); and his companion, Lillia Morris; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; a sister, Katherine “Girlie” Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, Arthur C., Sr. and Hannah (nee Whitfield) Holloway; brothers, Hardy “Lucky,” Willie “Redman”, Glenn “Fella” Holloway; sister, Ophelia “Bae-Bae” Key.

Friends may call Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 10 A.M. until time of Service at 12 Noon at Second Baptist Church, 427 Chapman Lane, Elyria. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
