9:30 p.m. — Dairy Mart, 500 E. Erie Ave., customer said she parked her mother’s bicycle outside the store and it was stolen while she was inside.
Monday, July 15
7 a.m. — Fairfield Christian Center, 2002 E. 28th St., police said the Rev. Dennis Johnson flagged down an officer and gave him a rusty semiautomatic pistol Johnson said he found on the property Friday while grass was being cut. The gun was unloaded.
12:22 p.m. — 5600 block Ashland Ave., a woman said her elderly mother’s apartment was broken into via a south side window that was smashed. The woman said her mother is moving and all her mother’s possessions had been moved before the break-in, so nothing was taken.
1 p.m. — Police Department, 100 W. Erie Ave., a woman said a family friend staying at her home for a week stole 8 suboxone pills. Suboxone is a drug used to treat heroin and prescription pill addicts and the woman said the man is an addict.
3:20 p.m. — West 18th Street, Eric Echols, 23, 500 block West 14th St., Lorain, arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they stopped Echols for driving with a suspended license and while being booked at the jail, he kicked off his shoe and revealed he had about 11 grams of marijuana in it.
3:23 p.m. — Edith and Leavitt roads, a woman said a woman who has been following her for the past few weeks threw a rock that hit her car while she was driving on West 21st Street near Reeves Avenue.
4 p.m. — Police Department, 100 W. Erie Ave., a man said an Apple iPad was stolen from his car while in the Wendy’s parking lot at 1410 Colorado Ave., around noon.
7:09 p.m. — Oberlin Avenue and West 29th Street, Kyle Cummings, 23, 3900 block W. Erie Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of a drug instrument, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, failure to signal and a stop sign violation. Michael Toney III, 20, 2100 block Mark Drive, Lorain, arrested and charged with possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing official business. Police said they stopped Cummings and Toney for failing to signal a turn and found small amounts of drugs on both men and $7,016 in cash on Toney. Toney said the money, which was seized by police, was a high school graduation gift.
8:15 p.m. — 2800 block W. Erie Ave., a man said he was walking past 1913 Tait St., when two men confronted him and one of the men punched him in the mouth.
7:29 p.m. — West 25th Street and Reid Avenue, Jacoba Finley, 19, 2500 block Reid Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with assault. Finley told police she fought a woman from across the street after the woman called Finley and her friends “sluts and whores” for washing a car in their bikinis.
9:43 p.m. — 2200 block E. 32nd St., a woman said between 4 and 5:30 p.m., someone came on her property and shattered the windshield of her car with a concrete block. The woman said she suspects several youths in the neighborhood were responsible.
