The algal bloom turned the water in the lake a shade of green.
Park Manager Bryan Goldthorpe said Friday that tests conducted by the Cuyahoga County Heath Department, who is contracted by the state to test their water, indicate bacteria levels are no longer hazardous.
“Hot, calm days” lead to warnings, Goldthorpe said.
He expects the beach to remain open for the foreseeable future.
“It’s supposed to cool off and get a little windier, so I think we’ll be fine,” he said.
According to the Metro Parks, at all times the elderly, the very young and anyone else who might have a compromised immune system is advised to use caution when enjoying the water.
