Lorain police

Tuesday, July 16

1:49 a.m. — Colorado and New Mexico avenues, Anthony Owens, 36, 1500 block New Mexico Ave., Lorain, arrested and charged with reckless driving, obstructing official business, driving with a suspended license, driving with improper lights, and four stop sign violations. Police said Owens led them on a chase while riding a motorized scooter then dumped the scooter and ran before surrendering on New Mexico Avenue.

Elyria police

Tuesday, July 16

8:15 a.m. — 200 block Third St., a man said a window was shattered on the building’s east side. A rock and a dent in the wall were found.

2:45 p.m. — Elyria Police Department, a woman reported a theft after leaving her car unlocked in the 1200 block of Foster Avenue for five hours on July 14. On July 15, she noted her makeup bag containing makeup and two bottles of Adderall was missing. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time.

10:35 p.m. — 300 block N. West River Road, a man said a window of an unoccupied home he is renovating was broken. The man said the only object he found missing was a weed trimmer.

No time reported — 200 block Fifth St., a woman said her live-in boyfriend allegedly punched and grabbed her hair. She said she left him a week ago and that, on the previous night, he asked her to spend the night with him. When she told him she was going back to where she was staying in the morning, he allegedly punched her face, head and body and held a screw driver to her face while grabbing her hair. Officers noted redness and swelling on her right eye area and photos were taken of injuries.

Wednesday, July 17

11:25 a.m. — EMH Medical Center Elyria, 630 East River Road, a woman said her ex-boyfriend on Tuesday stopped by her home in the 100 block of Phillip Court and displayed a pistol through the door of his car and threatened to shoot her before driving off when the homeowner came out of the home.

3:25 p.m. — Police Department 18 West Ave., a resident said someone burglarized his car which was parked in his driveway in the 100 block of Gateway Drive and stole his daughter’s $200 iPod Touch.

4:19 p.m. — 100 block Princeton Ave., a resident said a television and a video game were stolen from his home. Neighbors said they saw two men and a woman carrying items out of the home around 3 p.m.

8:26 p.m. — 500 block Walnut St., a woman said her front door’s upper window was shattered and she found what looked like a bullet by the stoop between the storm door and front door. Police confirmed a spent round was found and said there was a report of shots fired in the area around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday.

11:06 p.m. —1900 block Fowl Road, Jared Gunter, 31, 100 block Bunker Hill Lane, Elyria, arrested and charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. A small amount of heroin and three syringes and a burnt spoon were found in a pickup Gunter was in, police said. The pickup was found to be stolen from Hope, Ind. The owner said Gunter sold her the vehicle and then stole it back.

Saturday, July 13

7:48 a.m. — 300 block Forest St., neighbor dispute. The neighbor man said he did not want the neighbor’s “kid coming over to his house.”

10:17 a.m. — Commerce Drive, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle complaint.

11:10 p.m. — South Center, report of a possible drunk driver.

Monday, July 15

6:30 p.m. — 100 block Railroad St., purse stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Tuesday, July 16

11 p.m. — 80 block Church St., resident complained they heard a noise outside her home. Officers checked the area, but did not find the reason for the noise.

8:07 p.m. — 900 block Chestnut St., theft of various items from garage.

Tuesday, July 16

12:36 p.m. — 1000 block Water St., officers were called to the address in reference to a disturbance. A woman said she and her boyfriend were arguing about finances. The boyfriend admitted to having a “bad day” and that they did argue, but there were no threats made, nor did any physical altercation take place. They both went their separate ways after the argument.
