Julius T. Wargo, 92, of Fitchville, died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. He was born March 12, 1921, in Lorain, son of the late Julius and Susanna (Kalapos) Wargo. Julius lived in Grafton, until moving to Fitchville in 1949.
He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Julius was a sales rep for Electrox Vacuum and also worked construction and farmed all of his life. Julius was a member of the Fitchville Grange, Fitchville American Legion, Farm Bureau and New London Alliance Church. Julius loved to travel, play cards and dance.
Julius was survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia (Caroniti); daughters, Bonnie Widman of Fremont, Betty J. Camp of Greenwich, Barbara (Steve) Bowerize of Northwood and Marcia (Kevin) Ledet of Greenwich; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and sister in laws, Janet Wargo and Cathy Wargo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Merrill; four brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 21, 2013 from 2 to 6 P.M., at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London where a service will be held Monday, July 22, 2013, at 11 A.M., with Pastor Doug Lang officiating. Burial will follow in Fitchville Cemetery.
