Alice Louise “MOMMO” (Johnson) Pierson

PiersonAliceAlice Louise “MOMMO” (Johnson) Pierson, born September 23, 1938, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 18, 2013.

Alice’s spiritual exposure began early in a Christian home. Following the examples displayed by family members she acted upon her belief in Jesus Christ, she was Baptized and united with Mount Zion Baptist Church in Halls, Tennessee.

Alice graduated from Halls consolidated high school in 1957. She relocated to Cincinnati. While residing in Cincinnati she was employed at a medical center.

She joined in Holy Matrimony with Lonell Pierson and joined him in Elyria. They enjoyed a family life with their three children. Their marriage dedication and love was shared for over three decades. Alice was an active member in her churches beginning with Mt. Zion, Second Baptist and Victory Baptist. Serving as a church mother, deaconess and coordinating the food ministry.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, William and Linnie Johnson; husband, Rev. Lonell Pierson; sisters, Dr. Mary McCauley, Shirley Montgomery; brother, Joe E. Seibert; and step son, Wayne Pierson.

Alice’s spirit and love will remain alive in her family. She is survived by a sister, Wilda Seibert; step children, Ricky and Arrevia Pierson; aunt, Willie B. Dupree; sister-in-law, Lucille Seibert; god daughters, Josephine Thompson, Marci Adams and Barbara Berry; special cousin, Thomas White; brother-in-law, Robert Montgomery; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends may call Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Unity Baptist Church, 326 Fuller Rd., Elyria, from 11 A.M. until time of service at 12 Noon. Reverend Willie J. Gardner, Pastor, will officiate services. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
