Phoebe Ann Posey

Phoebe Ann Posey (nee Moore), 94, of LaGrange, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, following a short illness. She was born August 6, 1918 in Clay County, West Virginia, and had been a resident of the area since 1950.

Phoebe was a member of LaGrange United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, and had lived in Bonita Springs, Florida for several years.

Survivors include two daughters, Norma Fisher of Valley City, Barbara Williams (Ted) of Naples, Florida; and two sons, Bernie (Diana) of Elyria, Roger (Sharon) of LaGrange. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.

Phoebe was preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 1999; a grandson, Glen Fisher; her parents, John and Ann (nee Beasley) Moore; a sister, Opal Sears; and a brother, Denzel Cruckshanks.

Family will receive friends 4 until 7 P.M., Friday, July 26, 2013, at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria (440)322-4626, where funeral services will be at 10 A.M., Saturday, July 27, 2013. Elder Mike Smith will officiate. Burial will be at River Road Cemetery in LaGrange. Memorial contributions, in Phoebe’s memory, can be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.

    I love you Grandma. I can remember when you would take me for a milkshake when I spent the night, you made me feel special. And when I sat between you and Grandpa the left check was always for Grandpa to kiss and the right cheek was meant for your kiss. I can still feel the kisses. I will miss you!
