Donna C. Martin (nee Fortin), 80, of Elyria Township, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 17, 1932, in Cleveland, and was a 1950 graduate of East High School and attended Kent State University.
She had been employed as a sales clerk at the Higbee Company at Midway Mall. Donna was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and had served on the Library Committee. She was a member and past president of Lorain County Ostomy Association and had been a volunteer with the Lorain County Cancer Society. She was a member of the Elyria Township Fire Department Sirens and had been active at one time in P.T.A. She was an avid reader and enjoyed activities with her family and tending to her flowers.
Donna is survived by sons, Dale L. (Barbara) Martin of Wellington and Glenn P. Martin of Elyria Township; daughters, Cheryl M. (Kenneth) Greszler of Oberlin and Laura J. (Robert) McCoy of Granville, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Wilfred L. “Larry” Martin in 2010; parents, Emmett and Estella Fortin; sister, Elaine Millenbaugh; and a brother, Emmett Fortin.
Friends will be received Friday, July 26, 2013 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 P.M., at Dicken Funeral Home, 323 Middle Ave., Elyria. A funeral service will be Saturday, July 27, 2013, 10 A.M., at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 330 Second Street, Elyria. Reverend Wayne Brass will officiate, with burial in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
