Theodore A. “Ted” Scheutzow, Jr., 72, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at his home, following a brief illness. He was born October 11, 1940 in North Ridgeville and was a life long Elyria resident.
Ted worked for the General Motors Corporation in the Tow Motor Assembly Department for 43 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the Elyria United Polish Club and AMVETS Post 32 in Elyria, was a 1957 North Ridgeville High School graduate and enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing.
Survivors include his sisters, Ann Jares and Henrietta Hajes, both of Elyria and Mary Ann Thornton of El Dorado, Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Sr. and Mary Scheutzow; and brothers, Richard and John Scheutzow.
The family will receive friends Monday. July 29, 2013 from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 1 P.M. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Chaplain John Dezso of AMVETS Post 32 will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
