Shirley retired from Higbee’s in 1985, and later worked as a telephone operator for Walmart in Lorain. She was a member of Church of the Open Door in Elyria, and enjoyed antiques, gardening, traveling, and crafts.
She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Clemmons (Wayne) of Elyria; grandchildren, Amanda Clemmons of Elyria and Wayne “Chip” Clemmons (Betsy) of Wooster; step granddaughter, Bryana Harry; sister, Jo-Linda Grillo (Johnny) of New Kensington, Pennsylvania; brother, James Barbiaux of New Kensington, Pennsylvania; and sister, Sandy Fullerton of Glenbernie, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, Walter Findon; parents, Gustave and Queen Barbiaux; sister, Judy Kelley (Jerry); brother, Richard Barbiaux; and sister, Virginia Durst.
Private graveside services were held at Brookdale Cemetery earlier in July, officiated by Pastor Bob Wickens.
