Sandra L. Kinsey (nee Harris), 64, of North Ridgeville, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a short illness. She was born August 2, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri. Mrs. Kinsey had been a resident of North Ridgeville for 22 years.
She was a 1966 graduate of Fox Senior High School in Arnold, Missouri and she attended Jefferson Community College in Missouri. She was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport for 16 years and retired in 2009.
For many years Mrs. Kinsey was also a breeder of Devon Rex and Sphynx cats and she was a member of the Devon Rex Breed Club. She enjoyed ceramics, and was president of the King Salmon Ceramics Club. She also enjoyed motorcycling and rode a Harley Davidson Trike.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Harlan “Bob” Kinsey; two daughters, Shelley Solmon (Steve) of Avon Lake, Brenda Silva (Macq) of Garden Grove, California; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Jan Bigott (Herb) of St. Louis, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Yvonne; and by her parents, Robert and Frances (nee Dunlap) Harris.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 2, 2013 at 7 P.M. at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road (at Stoney Ridge Road), North Ridgeville. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate the service.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Devon Rex Research Laboratory in care of the University of California-Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine, 1114 Tupper Hall, Davis, CA 95616.
