Patsy M. Hafner (nee Thornberry), 69, of North Ridgeville, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, following a short illness. She was born April 27, 1944 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Mrs. Hafner had been a North Ridgeville resident since 1980 and had previously lived in Cleveland.
She was a graduate of Bryant & Stratton College in North Olmsted where she majored in hospitality management. Mrs. Hafner was currently employed by North Ridgeville City Schools as a custodian. She enjoyed traveling, riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles, fishing, boating and watching movies.
She is survived by three daughters, Kelly Minton of LaGrange, Terri Riley (Michael) of Quincy, Massachusetts and Traci Borkey (Frederick) of Old Brooklyn; eight grandchildren, Jennie, Tommy, Courtney, Cody, Jeremey, Jordan, Alexis and Freddie; one great granddaughter, Gianna; her mother, Burdine Thornberry of North Ridgeville; and by one sister, Carol Wilburn of Oberlin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas in 1996; an infant son, Keith; and by her father, Roy Thornberry in 1992.
The family will receive friends Wednesday August 7, 2013 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 11 A.M. at the funeral home. Rev. Ray Lovett, Mrs. Hafner’s cousin, will officiate. Burial will be at Fields Cemetery in North Ridgeville.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either Ames Family Hospice House or to The American Lung Association.
