Lorain County Wellness Leadership Workshop

Worksite and Faith-Based leaders will gain tools to improve morale, reduce sick days, transform environments, engage people, and promote healthier choices where we live, work, pray and play at the Lorain County Wellness Leadership Wellness Leadership Workshop, Wednesday, October 16th, 8am-noon.

The workshop will feature initiatives that have been successful in Hamilton County’s We THRIVE! Movement. Representatives from the Tri-State Workplace Wellness Collaborative, which is conducted through the Cincinnati City Health Department, will provide ideas for ‘best in class” workplace and community wellness programming. The workshop will also highlight local resources and provide a networking opportunity for those who share the common goal of creating a healthier workforce and community.

According to the Wellness Councils of America, more than 81% of businesses with 50 or more employees have some form of health promotion program -- the most popular being exercise, stop-smoking classes, back care programs, and stress management. Healthy employees and community-members miss fewer days of work, so they are more productive and have fewer health care costs. Turnover is expensive; a wellness program is an added benefit that can encourage employees to stay and faith-based organization to thrive.

Cost to attend is only $10 and includes a healthy breakfast. Space is limited, so save your seat today at www.loraincountyhealth.com/wellnessworkshop.

The workshop is sponsored by Live Healthy Lorain County Partners and is partially funded through the Ohio Department of Health, by Center for Disease Control and Prevention Creating Healthy Communities Program, which is conducted by the Lorain County General Health District.
