James Simko II, 23, of Elyria was arrested at 4 p.m. on Thursday and charged with robbery.
At 1:49 p.m. Simko entered Lorain National Bank and gave bank tellers a note, indicating he was robbing them. He then took an undisclosed amount of money and left the scene. Police were able to take a picture of Simko’s face off of surveillance footage and sent it to media outlets around Elyria.
At 3:45 p.m. police received a tip from an anonymous caller who saw Simko’s picture online and told police he was in house on the 1800 block of Middle Avenue in Elyria. Police found Simko hiding in a bedroom at the address. They charged him and sent him to the Lorain County Jail.
