David O. Maiden, 73, of Sheffield Lake, died Tuesday afternoon, August 13, 2013 in EMH Healthcare, following a lengthy illness. He was born January 7, 1940 in Elyria, to the late Roberta (nee Freeland) Maiden-Bishop and Glen Maiden.
Mr. Maiden graduated from Elyria High School and attended two years at Ohio State University. He worked at Thew Shovel, Lorain, Marion Power Shovel, Marion, Elwell Parker, Cleveland and York International, Elyria. He was a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church, Amherst and many Masonic organizations.
Mr. Maiden is survived by his wife, Nancy L. (nee Rickard) Maiden, to whom he was married for 47 years; son, Norman G. Maiden of Columbus; daughter, Anita L. Maiden of Sheffield Lake; three brothers; two sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews grand nieces and grand nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Seth.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 16, 2013 from 6 until 9 P.M. in the Walter A. Frey Funeral Home, 700 West Erie Ave., Lorain, during which Eastern Star services will be conducted by Queen City Chapter at 7:30 P.M. followed by Masonic Services conducted by Black River Masonic Lodge. Funeral service will be Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11 A.M. in Heritage Presbyterian Church, 515 Leavitt Road, Amherst, with Rev. Adrienne K. Lloyd, Pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church in Amherst, officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp., with full military honors conducted by the Honor Guard of American Legion, Post 30 and VFW, Post 451, Lorain.
