Dave was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Navy. He worked as a truck driver for Forrest City Tech. in Wellington for 10 years. Dave, along with his dad and brother, Chris, had a tree trimming service together.
Dave enjoyed going to his family blueberry farm, attending Mardi Gras in New Orleans and Fat Tuesday at Forts Tavern with his son, John every year in Wellington. Dave was a member of Wellington Eagles #2051. Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, camping, playing horseshoes, enjoying old Western movies, Cleveland Browns and Indians and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Dietz of Ashtabula; daughter, Katherine N. Rock of Oberlin; son, John W. Rock of Oberlin; and a host of brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy L. Rock; and father, Lee William Rock.
There will be a gathering of family and friends for David L. Rock on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, from 6 to 8 P.M., at New Russia Township Hall on Butternut Ridge Rd. Pastor Andy Call, of First United Methodist Church, will officiate. A private family burial will be at a later date.
